The idea.
- How do I validate a startup idea before building it?
- Look for people who already describe the problem in their own words, what they do about it today and whether anyone pays for a fix. Then run one small test, such as a landing page or a few customer conversations, with a number agreed in advance. Alvar does the reading and proposes the test.
- How can I tell if people will pay for my idea?
- Posts alone do not prove anyone will pay, so Alvar reports both sides: signals that people spend money or time on the problem, and the reasons against. You get one clear answer: sell as is, sell differently, or don’t sell. The first test is how you confirm it with real buyers.
- What if I only have a rough idea?
- That is enough. Alvar asks what it needs to turn your idea into questions the research can answer: the market, the buyer and the price.
The research.
- What does Alvar read?
- Connected sources include Google search, Reddit, LinkedIn, X, TikTok, Instagram, G2, app store reviews and Hacker News. The plan shows which sources a question will use before anything runs. Alvar reads only public pages and posts, nothing behind a login.
- How does Alvar check a quote?
- It opens every post, confirms the quote is on the page and keeps only the posts about your question. In our run of 24 September 2026 it found 142 posts and kept 49. The answer shows how many came from each source.
- What do I get at the end?
- One clear answer with the reasons for and against it, the quotes behind them with their sources and dates, and the first test to run. You can also get a brief your coding agent can build from.
- How is Alvar different from ChatGPT?
- Alvar checks each quote on its page, shows the number of posts from each platform, gives one clear answer with the reasons against, and shows the sources and the price before you pay. Read the full comparison.
Price and access.
- How much does Alvar cost?
- One research run is $99: one question about one market. The Launch Package is $999: research on the two or three directions you are choosing between, a landing page draft, a conversation script and a four-day test plan. You pay once. There is no subscription and nothing renews.
- Can I get a refund?
- Yes, within 14 days: in full for a package whose research has not started, and for the part of a research run you have not spent. The terms say how.
- Can I start today?
- Not without an invitation yet: online payment is not open. Send your question through the request form. The form is free and starts no research.
- Can I use Alvar from Claude Code or Codex?
- Yes. Add Alvar as an MCP server; the address and the steps are on Alvar in your assistant. Sign in once in the browser and choose one project. The assistant works in that project only, and a paid research run still waits for your confirmation.
- Who sees my research?
- Your research belongs to your project. Research and model providers process the text to do the work. The privacy policy describes how that data is handled.
Bring the question you keep going back and forth on.
You see the sources and the price before anything runs.
