Questions.
- Can ChatGPT read X and TikTok?
- Unclear. When we tested ChatGPT web search without an account in October 2026, it found 0 of the 15 X and TikTok posts we asked for. That test did not use deep research. Both sites disallow OpenAI’s crawlers in robots.txt, and OpenAI says those rules may not apply to visits a person starts.
- Is ChatGPT deep research enough for market research?
- For a broad view of a market it may be all you need. If your decision depends on what buyers say on X or TikTok, look at where its sources came from before you rely on it.
- Can I use both?
- Yes. Use deep research for the broad picture and Alvar for the question of whether people will pay.
